Project 3
Online & Hybrid course quality transformation
With the high demand of quality online teaching and learning, during spring quarter of 2015, the Office of Online Campus at CSUEB, provided an online and hybrid course quality transformation grant for CSUEB faculty who wish to improve their online and hybrid courses. I and16 other CSUEB faculty in various disciplines was awarded the grant. We met and shared our online and hybrid teaching and designing experiences with each other regularly. The grant required awarded faculty members to register and successfully complete a Quality Matter (QM) online training workshop in May and early June 2015.
I registered the workshop, completed the workshop, and received a certificate for successfully completing the online training. In the online training course, I learned a lot regarding how to apply QM standards to design a quality online class. I also had a chance to work with 10 other CSUEB faculty as well as 22 other online educators from other states in the United States on how to design, develop, and deliver quality online class with QM rubric. The impact of the training workshop is significant because with the improvement of my online course design, hundreds and thousands of my future online or hybrid students will benefit from my online instruction.
