Online Teaching and Learning Activities
In Fall quarter of 2016, I received an online and hybrid course quality transformation grant from the Office of Online Campus at CSUEB, The grant aims for CSUEB faculty who wish to improve their online and hybrid courses. With the grant, I took two QM online courses for professional development and successfully completed the two coureses. The two QM courses are:
1. Designing Your Online Course (DYOC), completed on 11/3/2016
2. Addressing Accessibility and Usability (ST8), completed on 12/1/2016
I also advance my QM achievement with redesigning one of the courses that I taught in Winter 2016, submitted the courses for QM peer review, and received a QM certificate for the courses. The course number and title are:
EDUI6210 Principles of Instructional Design
In the two online training courses, I learned how to design a quality online class as well as how to make sure your online courses comply with accessibility and usability. I also had a chance to communicate with 20 other CSUEB faculty as well as 50 other online educators from other states in the United States on how to design, develop, and deliver quality online class with QM rubric. The impact of the training workshop is significant because with the improvement of my online course design, hundreds and thousands of my future online or hybrid students will benefit from my online instruction.
